Common Nouns and Proper Nouns


Common nouns are name of things, people, places or animals. 
For example, 
book, mother, hospital and elephant. 

Proper nouns are the special names for the things, people, places or animals.
For example, book - Oxford, mother - Mrs Smith, hospital - Saint Vincent Hospital, elephant - Jumbo.

Common nouns usually begins with small letters whereas proper nouns with capital letters.
