States of matter

Materials around us comes in three different forms solid, liquid and gas, which we classify as states of matter.

Solid has a fixed volume and shape.
Example: ice blocks, cars, books, tables and computers

Liquid adapts to the shape of its container.
Example: water, oil, tea and blood

Gas expands to occupy the volume and shape of its container.
Example: the air we breathe, the cooking gas
